THURSDAY AFTER NO COMICS

It truly is a let-down feeling.

You've unwittingly trained yourself (or been trained by the industry) to look forward to Wednesday. It's something you look forward to almost instinctively. You get that e-mail with the weekly pulls, or check your favorite website for new releases and the anticipation starts.

And then there's two issues. No Spider-Man, no awesome indie books, no Hickman. So I didn't bother going to pick them up. And boy, does it feel lousy.

Not to say Shadowland, and Hawkeye & Mockingbird aren't great books. I enjoy them both a lot so far. But they're both relatively new, and so I succumbed to the notion of giving it a rest for a week.

So here I sit. Waiting patiently for Cup'O'Joe (when ever that might be posted), not satisfied by The Buy Pile (since I didn't buy anything myself), anxiously waiting for the new pull list e-mail, to see if next week will be better.

Re-Org

So you've already noticed my first writing nussance, the "...". I'll try to be sparce with it, so call me on it if it gets annoying.

Bear with the reorg, as I like to call it. This is going to be a comics blog, but I ain't throwing away all the old stuff.

Lame update.

So I haven't posted in a while. Why, you say?

Because things are sloooooow!
Sure, Readbud is a cool new site, and I've been trying to get some signups for peoplestring, but the real exciting stuff is the surveys. Earning $4 in 20 minutes is exhilerating, but I haven't been able to do many of those lately and therefore a lackluster mood has fallen on me. Maybe they slow down for summer.

On the flip side though, I have been actually getting alot of cash lately. I've got $55 spendable dollars at the moment and many bids ongoing at eBay, lol.

The only exception is Webperspectives, where I've been waiting for a month for a 300 point survey to clear. And what do I find this morning? A 200 point survey, that I finished a full week after the previous one, has cleared, still leaving me 100 points short of cashing out! **grummble**

My well earned money is slipping through the cracks…

So here’s how it works. As I’ve said, I report my earnings in USD. Why? Because most of it comes in that way, and I spend most of it that way, too.

Now you’d figure if I were to report something Canadian, I’d to a quick conversion to American when I earn the funds so I can add it to the list. The only problem with that is when I go to spend it. You see, it’s not the exchange rate at the time of earning that matters, but the exchange rate at the time of spending.

I just rewarded myself by buying the Lifetime Membership at comicbookrealm.com (don’t worry, the site is still free, it just gives me a cool little badge). But when the transaction was over, I only had 0.65CAD left (0.62USD), instead of the $2.29 I should have had, according to my spreadsheet of earning and spending. Since most of the funds on paypal were CAD at the time, I got hit had on a terrible exchange rate.

Now don’t get me wrong, the rate has been excellent lately, but I guess I’ve just been getting too used to it. In total, I lost $1.67USD. I split it evenly among my Focusline and Lightspeed earnings since they were the only two CADs I had at the time.

One new thing I've learned on this venture. Still worth it!

MyPoints: Spin & Win

I think the daily spin wheel is gone. Now I rarely ever won anything, but I did thnk I would be able to redeam the points for some money some day. It seams less likely now.

June Totals, a bit late...

Here's the scorecard for June.

$20.00 Focusline
$10.00 OpinionOutpost
$10.00 Clearvoice
$9.79 Ipsos
$5.00 Swagbucks
$3.45 Gagabux
$2.00 Neobux
$0.11 Buxism

Grand total... $60.35. Feels good, but I don't think it'll happen again next month. I'm predicting another solid $35-40. Feels great though!

Webperspectives.ca

So this site looked like a joke at first. The profile surveys were incredibly long. The surveys came ridiculously seldom. And when they did, they were rarely for points, but for sweepstakes entries. Not to mention, you can't actually find they available surveys on the site anywhere, they're all started through e-mail.
Once you do finish a points survey, it doesn't even go to the pending column right away. It might take a few days, which really wigs me out, since I'm not even sure now that it didn't hit a glitch. From there, it sometimes takes up to 3 weeks for the points to become earned.

...So why have I been bothering?

Well, when they do send you a points survey, it's rare that you don't qualify. Also, I haven't come across any $1 surveys yet, they are more in the $1.50 to $4.00 range. So all in all, I'm pretty happy with this little-engine-that-could type site.

Downlinerefs, the down side.

I had to drop my first direct ref through the site. The problem is, when someone signs up under you, there's no way to garuntee they'll keep clicking, except that they want your credits. Well now I've canceled the contract, lost the commision credits to downlinerefs, lost 4 days worth of credits on the contract, and gained maybe $0.12 in referal clicks. That definitley sours your take view of a system.

On the up side, I did over $10 worth of surveys yesterday!

Monday, June 21, 2010

Dude, what's the deal (conversion rates) ?

So I wanted this site to be a Canadian PTC/Survey guide. And yet, I do all my reporting in USD, what's the deal. Well... it's just easier! That's what most sites work in. Instead of using the currency that only a few sites pay out in as my base, I go with the masses. That way, on the few occasions (like IPSOS yesterday) when I get a payout in CAD, that's the only time I have to see what it's worth in another currency. In this case, the $10.00 CAD was $9.79 USD. It's only 21 cents difference, I could have just pretended and lumped it in, but I wanted to be accurate at the time of Cashout.

Not to mention, most of my online buys will be in USD anyways.

A Gaga bux sign-up from Downlinerefs.

So someone finally took my offer on Downlinerefs.com. 150 credits for 11 days of activity. I thought that was an amazing deal, but it took forever for someone to grab it. I guess since most people are already on gagabux anyways.

So I stipulated in the contract that they should click at least 15 ads per day. I thought that was pretty easy. And yet, the dude is holding steady at 14. I know I'm nit picking, but dang. Oh well, what's most important is if he sticks with it after the 11 days.

Monday, June 14, 2010

My first PTC payout, you wouldn't guess...

Buxism. I joined because it looked well put together. Turns out the site wasn't even live yet. So I forgot for a bit. They send me an e-mail to get us to start the clicking.
So I have what they call Pioneer membership. I was alowed to do my first cashout at $0.10, so at least I know it's legit. I got the first $0.11 in my paypal account instantly. Next cashout at $1.00.
The only real problem is that you don't get $0.01 per click. Some are less, some are way less. But if you sometimes wish you had more things to click when you're bored, then try it out. I'd love to know what non-pioneer standard membership stats are like.

Pending Payments

So JimFred was right. Gagabux won't let me have two pending payments at the same time. I just went over $2.00 for the second time and tried. I guess it's a way of letting people's balances grow and tempting them to reinvest.

I can wait. The next one is going to be huge.

First Aquisition

So you say, “Hey Erik, I thought you were going to tell us about what you do with the money you make. What gives? Have you just been hoarding it? 95 bucks and nothing?”

Well yes, but there’s more to it than that.

The first thing to realize is that my total is just money I’ve “cashed out”. Sometimes it takes a while to get to me. I’ve cashed out $45.71 from Focusline, but the first payment is still up to 2 weeks away from my Paypal account. Also, cheques that come through the mail have to be processed, printed, and then sent alllllll the way to Canada.

Second, I have actually spent some of the money on things related to this venture. For instance my Clixsense upgrade. Also, I bought a You-Cubez cube.

Once you factor both in, I only had $28.08 of hard “in my pocket” cash.

Well I just spent $28.00 today! A new member of ComicBookRealm.com was selling his collection and I found some inexpensive comics that I needed. I picked up Amazing Spider-Man 156, 158-9, 245, 410 and Spectacular Spider-Man 80. They are mostly in the 5.0-6.0 rage in quality (except for SSM 80, which is a 2.0), so it’s nothing to write home about, but they do help fill in some gaps.

I just feel bad that I’m delaying my ComicBookRealm Lifetime Membership by about a month. Sorry, DoughBoy!

SwagBucks Surveys & FocusLine

In case you were wondering, they are the same. I pulled up the Swag ones, then the Focusline ones, and both surveys listed were identical. I completed the Focusline Alcohole one, and low and behold, the Swag Alcohol one told me I had already filled out that survey. Also, Swagbucks was going to offer me 125 SBs, Focusline was offering $2.50. Since I get $5 Paypal cards with my SBs (which are 700), then each SB is worth $0.007. So the SwagBucks survey was worth $0.89. What a rip! Even if I get Amazon Giftcards with my Swagbucks (450 SBs), that would be $0.011 per SB. That survey would be worth $1.39.

After all that rambling, stay away from the Swagbucks surveys until they start making up their own surveys or use a different provider... maybe one that we Canadians wouldn't normaly have access to.

PS I'm pretty sure you can do your profile over again for SBs, I'll keep you posted.

PPS I did one of the profile questionaires over again, it let me, and I completed it, but I haven't received any SBs yet.

Chainbux.com, am I really surprised?

And the answer is no. I've seen ads for "bux site building" services out there. Obviously, these guys had that done. Thought they could make some easy cash. But then the advertisers don't come flocking, but the regulars keep clicking, and before you know it people are asking to cashout. I was barely halfway there (I think I had $2.48), but it is a kick in the a$s. I knew it didn't feel right, but I figured I'd keep going until my first cashout and count myself lucky. Didn't even make it that far... bummer.

Monday, June 7, 2010

Gagabux: Wow, that was fast.

Today is day eleven and I've hit 200 clicks. (I was at 199 last night. It drove me crazy that I didn't get one more.) That's $2.00 from my own clicks and I can now cash out. Not to bad for an "imitator" site. Hell, I like it better than Neobux, which I never really got the hang of... or maybe you really do need to upgrade there to make it worth it. Anyways, with JimFred's contributions, I cashed out at $3.45. I wanted to just get $2, but I guess it's all or nothing.

DownLineRefs.com, and why I haven’t posted about it yet.

It’s a tricky site. The more into the whole making-money-online thing you are, the harder it is to enjoy this site. So how do I explain it without turning people off right away?

If you want someone to become your referral, but they aren’t your best friend, you need to offer them something. Well how about credits… credits that they can then in turn offer to someone else to become their referral. Solid plan, right?

So how do I get these credits?

Well the first one I think you’ve already guessed. Signup as someone else’s referral. But obviously you can’t already be a member of that site. So you need to look for an offer for a site that you’re not already a member of, that’s the biggest problem. I got lucky. I had been seeing way to many ads for Gagabux to ignore at this point. I knew I was going to sign up for it someday anyways. (I have no idea which one I’ll sign up for next!) So I looked at all the “contract offers” for Gagabux. (and btw, there must be 100 PTC sites that people have offers for). One person was going to offer me 12 credits per day for 16 days. That was the best per day rate I found. I also didn’t want to sign up for a contract that was longer than I could handle. So I click the link in the contract, sign up, provide my username for gagabux to the contract provider, and start clicking. Eventually, the contract provider sees I’ve become a referral, verifies me in Downlinerefs, and each day there after, an equal portion of the points start trickling into my account. If I stop clicking, and the contract provider notices, they cancel the contract.

You can also buy referral credits. Since I don’t plan on doing that, I don’t have the rates here.

Also, there are ads to click for credits. I usually click all the ones that offer 0.60 to 0.30. Anything less than that, and it’s totally not worth it.

Lastly, you can refer others to Downlinerefs to get credits.

I have currently posted my first contract offer. It’s 13 credits per day for 4 days. I figure Gagabux is such a great site, it only takes 4 days to get hooked anyways.
I’ll add more notes as I learn more about the site.

a minor PeopleString adjustment

PeoplePoints are now only good for the month... I think. And they will be converted every month... I think. We'll see at the end of the month. It'll be nice for the guessing to be gone from the site.

One rarely gets a second chance...

So I was doing the FocusLine daily $1 survey, and got screened out because I said I wouldn't eat at KFC. We rarely know why we get screened out, but I do this time. How, you ask? Because I clicked on "Try to Qualify for another survey" and it ran me through all the same questions again. I was socked, to say the least. I did not say I would not eat at KFC this time, and I was in.

I do not recommend answering surveys how you think they want you to answer them. If companies stop seeing the value in offering these surveys, then this money pool will dry up. In this case, I don't feel like a hypocrite because I actually would eat there... as like, a reward for not eating there in 3-4 years.

It's just such good food, and so bad for you, lol.

I just keep posting today...

I read this article about LibertyDollarReserve today.

The first and last points don't really mean the site is a scam to me, but the other two are troubling.

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20100527193611AAVel5P

Easiest. Dollar. Ever.

Just qualified and finished one of those daily one buck suveys on Focusline. Frozen Pizzas + less than 5 minutes = $1.00 USD. Nice.

May In Revue

The grand total for May is $45.71.

$15.00 OpinionOutpost
$25.71 FocusLineSurveys
$ 5.00 Swagbucks.com

I’ve also begun the groundwork on some new surveys sites, found some traffic exchange sites, PeopleString converted points to cash, and I have a hook on a great new PTC. Overall, a good month.

Easyhits4u update.

So I still like the site, don't get me wrong, but I think I miss spoke on my first post.
I don't get $0.10 for every 100 sites viewed by my referals, rather just for the first 100. I guess that makes a bit more sense. But I do get a share of their credits toward my own advertising pool, so that's still cool.

In a similar vein, did anyone realize you only get 1,000 Swagbucks from your referals... and that's it? I didn't.

Saturday, May 29, 2010

GagaBux, so far so good.

So far, $0.17 per day of clicks!

Ok, I only have 2 days of data so far, but that sounds promising. It has a neobux style dot to click at the begining of the ad, instead of a picture-match at the end, so I like that, too.

Only real complaint is that they want you to have an AlertPay and a Paypal account. Why do you need both, guys? Ah well, there might be a time when I need it anyways.

Give it a try.

...at Work or not at Work, that is the question...

Are you stuck in a cubicle 35 hours/week? I am, it's a secure job, but my lunch & breaks suck. I want to take advantage of all those survey invites I get before they meet their quota, but sometimes having outdated browsers and really strict browsers can be a pain.
Granted, most surveys do work at work. It's mostly the PTCs that get you down. Liberty Dollar Reserve usually has 2-3 gambling ads to click on, but as soon as I do, my work filter redirects me to the big blue corporate no-no page, and I get to look at that for 30 seconds. It's not like I'm doing anything wrong, but it looks like I was going to.
Alot of the bux sites don't even load since our browser isn't the most recent edition.
I can't spin the peoplestring wheel or scratch the tickets.
Last, if I start a survey at the begining of my 15 minute break, and it says it should only be 10-15 minutes, then I start to look bad when it takes 25, lol.

The stresses of modern life.
Anyone else have better luck?

PeopleString (did it finally happen?)

I've never uploaded an image to a blog, so bear with me.
I think I finally got some money from all my peoplepoints. Anyone else notice thing and/or know what it means?

EasyHits4U.com and why I'm obsessed.

It’s a simple concept. For every website I visit, someone will visit mine. Sounds solid. I know I can do that in my sleep… but then again, all the people visiting my site will feel that way too, they’ll be doing it in their sleep. Well obviously the trick is to make sure your site has something different to offer. But you say, I don’t have a web site. Well, you can also send people to any of your referral links. In fact, you can have a whole list of them, and assign your visit “credits” to any of the sites you have listed, in any portions you want.
What makes it even better, is that you can convert those valuable visits to banner impressions. This means that anytime someone visits a site (not necessarily yours) your banner could be shown at the same time. I like using this since many referral programs offer professionally made banners to use. I’ve been using my Swagbucks banner.
Now you say that a site visit is better than a banner, but I say, I get a hell of a lot of banner for just one visit “credit”.
Here are some miscellaneous benefits that add up to make this site quite something.
First, there’s no pop-up windows where you’re viewing the sites. As soon as your done with it a site, it takes you to the next without having to close anything.
Next, every 25 – 50 pages you view, bring up a bonus page with a random prize of more credits or banner impressions.
Also, for those of us that are interested in the money first, and the site exposure second, they do pay for viewing. It’s a ridiculously small $0.30 for 1000 sites, but it’s better than nothing. In fact, what is even better is the $0.10 for every 100 sites viewed by a referral. Weird, eh?
Lastly, you never run out of things to click. It just keeps bringing you to the next one.
I have my blog listed with them, as well as my Clixsense, Swagbucks and Opinionoutpost referral links. My Star Wars Swagbucks banner is working for now, but I’m going to try some of their other ones soon, too. Try it out. It’s surprisingly fun and addictive. If nothing else, it's worth a look around. I believe my blog has suffered due to this site, lol.

Thursday, May 20, 2010

Ok, Toluna, not happy, but will still try.

60,000 points only equal $20USD. Not pleased. That 1,200 point surveys I just finished... worth $0.40!

I guess it's all resting on how quick I can cashout now.

Wednesday, May 19, 2010

Toluna, why I love it, even though I can’t remember how to spell it.

Right off the bat, I don’t know if it’s available in the states, and it’s a bummer that they don’t have a referral incentive, but it’s got so much else going for it.
The profile surveys already got me 20% of the way to cashing out, so that’s a good start. Also got a bonus when I filled out the last one. It also has poll questions, some by the site, and some buy users, that also give you points. It’s not much, but it’s fun and easy.
Next, I’ve been sent at leave 5 survey invites since I signed up last week. Not all qualified, but it’s still not bad.
Detractors are that finished surveys aren’t credited right away, even though they are on a points system, and I don’t know how much money you got for the 60,000 points you need to cashout to PayPal. You’d think that would be an obvious piece of information to provide. So I guess maybe I don’t love it, but I sure do find it fun and easy!

Out of town for 5 days…

And what do I find waiting for me? A $6.00 survey from Opinionoutpost.com. Qualified and completed in less than 15 minutes. Cashed out for $10. What a treat. Also, a lot of my pending Focusline money became earned while I was away, so I was able to cash out for the first time, $25. Those were the only highlights though. Did not qualify for any of the 5 Clearvoice ones waiting for me, most had closed already. I think I got $0.30 out of them. But there were lots of ads to click at Clixsense and Libertydollarreserve. So it wasn’t all bad.

PineCone Research

JimFred mentioned this is a good site, but that you can't invite others, or just join on your own. You need to find a banner ad for them first, aaaaand only when registration is open. So I did some digging.

This site will tell you when it's open, and where to go;
http://mysurvey123.com/index.php/Paid-Surveys-Reviews/Pinecone-Research.html
Available to US, UK, Canada and Germany. All are separate sites, so find the one that is for your country. Sadly I haven't tested it yet, since Canada is the only one currently closed.

You-Cubez.com (catch-up #5)

So this did seem like a bit of a waste of time at first. JimFred initially told me that the “point” of the site was a bit unclear, and I had to agree. But yesterday I poked around again for the first time in a while and started to get the hang of the site.

I found $5 new in my paypal account yesterday from Swagbucks. I decided that, if I could get away with a very small investment, I would give You-Cubez a real go, just so I could understand it. Well it turns out the minimum to put into the site is £2, which, yesterday, was $3.12. Not bad, let’s see what I found out.

I’ll start at the beginning. The gimmick. Ads (links) embedded in colourful, customizable 3-D cubes, listed 10x10 per page. Click a cube, go to the page. The most “valuable” cubes are the ones on the first page (more specifically, the top left cube is the most valuable).

If you don’t feel like investing, or reinvesting once you’ve made some money, then this site is nothing more than a lame PTC. The vast, VAST majority of the cubez don’t give you anything for clicking.
You have “cash cubez” that become clickable occasionally when the coin logo appears on it. Like any PTC, you click the cube (ad) and view a site for a certain amount of time to get some money. Except the money here is between 0.5p and 0.25p ($0.01 to $0.005), and this used to be once, maybe, per day. Recently, they’ve added 15 or so “budget cubez” that you can click twice per day, but they offer even less cash per click (roughly $0.0004). So it’s still not a very good PTC.

So how have they survived? Well the lure is part investment opportunity, part cheap ad space, both of which are fighting for dominance in my head right now.
You see, you can buy a brand new cube, from the site, for £1. It starts on the very last page (since it’s only valued at £1). Now you have an ad for you site, all be it a hard to find one, for 1 year, for really cheap. But how do you get the ad higher on the list, and therefore, more noticeable (and get yourself more traffic)?
Well since the cubes are listed in order of “value”, you need to add value to your cube. You can do this by earning “cube funds”. It’s basically fake money that you can buy or earn, and then add onto your cube, effectively raising it’s status and position in line to the top. (Note: you can’t buy cubez with cube funds, only increase the value of cubez you already own) Also, you can’t cash out cube funds. How do you earn it though? Click 100 standard (non-cash) cubes per day. It’s actually way easier than it sounds, since you don’t have to wait for a window to load before you click the next cube. (I usually click 15 at a time, and then close them all when they’re done loading.)
So that’s how you get a cheap ad and make it more prominent. But where’s the investment? Well you can sell you’re cube (and therefore your position on the cube list) to other members. Currently I have a cube for sale on page 9 for £15. I originally bought it for £2 (on page 10), then added to its value twice. I might be asking too much for it, but whatever, I’m still learning.
Now I should make one thing clear. A cubes “value” and what it will sell for, are two very different things. I bought my cube for £2, but its “value” was £233.

So what do I have now that I didn’t have before? Well I have a cheap ad for my blog that’s good for a year, if I don’t sell it. I received 12 hits within the first hour or so… I’m sure no one stayed more than 20 seconds, but whatever. I’ve also added “value” to my cube, and put a for-sale sign on it right away. If it sells, I’ll lose my ad, but I’ll have earned a profit. Maybe I’ll buy two different ones instead and cash out the difference. It’s a fun experiment even if it doesn’t go anywhere, and it all only cost me $3.12.

The Time to Join Swagbucks!

If you're not on Swackbucks.com yet, now's the time to join. They have upped the amount of bucks you earn per win until Friday, and have also increased the frequency of wins. I won 24 & then 25 within 15 minutes doing my normal amount of searching. I also found 2 swagcodes yesterday. In all, I earned over 100 SBs in one days!

April (and March, since you asked)

April was exciting. Although all the pending funds in Focusline ($23) still haven't become earned yet, which would put me way over the mark and on my way to the next one, I cashed out twice on 2 sites this month. Still no referals on anything.

Swagbucks.com $10 into paypal.
OpinionOutpost.com $11.70 in cheques on their way.

March was simple, and small. Learning the ropes. No referals. No upgrades. Lots of ground work.

Swagbucks.com $5 into paypal.

Friday, April 30, 2010

4 Days + 3 qualified Surveys =

$5.50!
OpinionOutpost.com rocked this week. Cashed out $5.00 again!

Useless points, and some cash...

So one thing I that annoys me about Swagbucks is the affiliated search engines. If let's say, you go to NYGiants seach and get some SBs, you can't use them at the reagular site. You need to use them at NYGiants search swag store. Wish someone had told me that at the begining. I have 29 SBs that I keep having to remind myself are useless.

Cashed out another $5 Paypal card today. That's 2 this month!

Also qualified for my first Webperspectives.ca survey. That puts me 10% of the way to cashing out. Not bad I guess. I hope it picks up. They send you surveys where the only prize is a sweepstakes entry. Sorry, not an insentive for me.

By the way, like JimFred, I rank the best sites in order on the right. So the higher ups in each catagory should be tried first.

Clixsense (catch-up #4)

So, on the outside, it seems a bit basic. Then you crack open the shell, and you find something pretty ingenious inside.
It’s the simplest form a PTC. You log in, go to ads, there’s and ad. Click the ad. Wait 30 seconds. Get $0.01. Sometimes there’s two. Usually 4 to 5 throughout the day is what I’ve noticed, but I’m not glued to the computer, so it might be more.
Now you say, “$0.045 per day, why bother?” Well, it is one of the simplest clicks out there. No moving dots to click, no numbers to match (except maybe once per day), just a simple click. Also, the upgrade fee is small, compared to other sites. $10, which I earned through Swagbucks, is all it cost. According to JimFred, he earned an average of $0.15 per day after he did his upgrade. That’s a serious change. In three months you would have easily made that money back… but it gets better. When you first upgrade, there’s between 400 & 500 ads waiting for you right away. Now I don’t know if that’s a rule, but it happened for JimFred, and it happened for me, so I think it’s the usual. So that’s a good chunk of your money back right there. Lastly, and this is a part I haven’t yet explored fully, but the referral structure goes deep. 8 levels I think. In simple terms; If you refer someone, and they refer someone, and they refer someone., and so on, you make a portion of each of their clicks eight levels deep. So if you’re going to refer, go to your tech savvy friends, as they will be more likely to refer, too, lol.
Also, I just made JimFred $2.00 by upgrading, so that was a nice little bonus.Only catch I found was that the upgrade had to be via google checkout, so I couldn’t use my paypal. Other than that, this is almost my favourite.

Neobux (catch-up #3)

This one has huge potential, but takes a lot of fiddling and testing to start getting right.
It’s you basic PTC site on the surface. There are, at first anyways (and for me anyways), 4 guaranteed sites to click every day. There ends up being more eventually, but this is it to start. You aren’t allowed to start referring members until 30 days in and I think until you perform 100 clicks. So with all these rules, what’s the point, right?
Well, you can start “renting” referrals. It basically means you’re hiring other users to click ads for you as well. As a free member, you get $0.005 per referral click. Now since it cost me $0.25 to rent this clicker per month, they would need to make 50 clicks in that time to pay me back. With at least 4 available each day, they could potentially be clicking 120.
The snag is, not everyone is as click happy as me. I definitely do the 120+ per month, so if anyone has me rented, I’m making them some money. So here’s where the fiddling comes in. You have to start weeding out the crappy clickers, keep (“renew” them for another $0.25) the good clickers, and keep renting new ones, so you have a large pool of clickers to filter through.
Confused yet? Well I was, but it’s a risk free (if you don’t put any money in) place to try it out, and all you’ve wasted if you don’t turn a profit, is your time.
If you do turn a profit, then that’s gravy.
This is a legit site, they’ve been around for a while, and have spawned many imitators.
Try it out.

My routine

I get to work about an hour before I should be starting, one of the many benefits to car-pooling. I don’t really mind, it gives me a chance to work on this project. Typically, I go to Swagbucks first and flip through the no-obligations offers (it’s only 1-3 SBs per day, but they add up fast). Then I start going to my list of sites, but I search them in Swagbucks instead of just typing the address into the browser. I type the whole address into the search (ie. Dealsncash.com). I’ve been getting SBs once or twice each morning for doing this. My list at the moment is 10 sites long that I go to everyday. Not bad for just one tiny extra step to get to the page, right?

ClearVoice, you had me worried

First survey I`ve completed on Clearvoice in over 20 days, and the first one that`s even been avaibale in 10. It was $1.00, so I`m still $2.70 short. Low payout makes me happy though.
Clearvoice is still trucking.

FocusLine Surveys (catch-up #2)

FocusLine was the first survey site I joined. I believe it was the first since it was at the top of JimFred’s list, and also since it had a $5.00 sign-up bonus. The pay-out threshold is about as high as they come (at $25.00) but you can get there surprisingly fast.

There are some nickel and dime profile surveys that you qualify for 100% of the time, so might as well do those right away. In general, the regular surveys pay between $1.50 and $3.00 each. Everyday, or every other day, there is a survey called Sweepstakes to win $50,000, or something like that. If you qualify, which is about a third of the time, it pays $1.00.

Put that all together with your signup bonus, and you’ve earned your $25 in 6 weeks… well that’s what it took me anyways. The only catch is you have to wait for your pending funds to become “earned”. That’s where I’m sitting right now. Over $31 in the pot, but only $18 earned.

I still put this one on the top of my list because JimFred has proved it pays, we know it’s accessible to Canadians, and the funds grow nice and quickly.

Swagbucks (I'll start catching you up)

It must have been the first money making venture I started, but it’s hard to tell since they all began in such quick succession. A friend told me all about the Amazon.com giftcards he had been earning and was showing off the graphic novels he’d purchased with them. Intrigued, I asked what the deal was.

Swagbucks.com is, at it’s simplest, a search engine. Granted, the first three search results are usually sponsored results, but since they’re clearly marked, they’re easy to skip. Occasionally, after hitting search, you are awarded swagbucks, which are the currency used on the site.
To give you a frame of reference, 700 swagbucks will get you a $5 paypal gift card. That’s how I roll, since I would like to use the funds on eBay, but if you prefer other giftcards, you can get them considerately cheaper. Alternately, you can also redeem your points for physical prizes (S&H is included).

It’s definitely an easy to use site, which is key to me. It’s available to participants in the US, UK and Canada (minus Quebec, sorry mes amie). Lastly, there are extra ways to earn bucks i.e. daily hidden codes in their blog or Facebook page, Trade-in old used video games, or even by flipping through a fee offers per day.

It was also the first website to pay. I've cashed out for $5 giftcards twice since March 1st and am 3/4 of the way to a third.

If you take anything away from my blog, it should be signing up to SWAGBUCKS.com.

Description 2.0

This is the description I though I was going to post... the they tell me limit to 500 character. But I wasn't going to let all the hard work go to waste. So now you get stuck reading it.

Inspired by a friend who’s gotten quite good at the whole PTC (paid to click) and Online Survey racket, I’ve decided to chronicle my own experiences trying to make an easy buck. The only problem is that JimFred82 is looking at it all from an American perspective. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, but for some sites I rarely get forwarded opportunities, and for others I’m not even eligible to join.

So here’s the plan. I make my own list. I’ll use JimFred’s list to start, but I’ll filter out all the stuff I can’t join since I’m in Canada, then I’ll move the not-Canada-friendly stuff down a few notches, and finally, I’ll start adding my own sites to the list with my own experiences. Am I putting any money into this? No, I’ve decided that all funds that get invested into this venture will be reinvestments. That may take a little longer, but it’ll be a nice counter-point to JimFred’s all-in ballsy method. I wish I had the guts to do it his way, but it ain’t gonna happen.

Is this going to be all business and no fun? Nah. Because you don’t need to know, but I wanna tell anyways, I’m going to regale you with what I spend my revenue on. Since I’m using the free/no-money-in approach, it might take a while for the bragging to start though.
